Two-Man Show
September 3, 2010

September 3rd - Two-Man Show through September 17th, 2010 Mountain Trails Gallery is pleased to present the sculptures of wildlife artist Jim Gilmore and the cowboy imagery of Guest Artist Tanner Bryson. Gilmore, a native of Colorado, is known for his representational bronzes that capture the elegance, nobility, and physical beauty of North American wildlife such as Bison, Mountain Lions, Grizzly Bears, Fox, and Birds of Prey. All of his sculptures depict each animal in its true environment, whether poised on a rock, like “Full Throttle” or whimsically yawning like “Morning Stretch”, a sleepy fox. Jim’s bronzes present a window to the world of wildlife, so often far from our everyday lives. Our other featured guest is local artist and cowboy Tanner Bryson. Bryson, a native of Arizona and graduate of the University Of Arizona School of Fine Art, draws what he lives. He is a team-roping champion and horse trainer with deep roots in Arizona. Tanner’s pencil drawings capture the true nature of cowboy life from roping and branding calves, to teaching the next generation of children the ways of true ranching life. Join us as we welcome these two artists at a reception from 5-8 pm in Tlaquepaque, Suite A-201. Light refreshments will be served. For more information please call 282-3442 or visit our website at www.mountaintrails.com. • Date Details: September 3rd through 17th, 2010

“Perspectives on the American West”
October 1, 2010

Two artists views of the American Indian and the Southwestern Land Steven Lang’s newest work that incorporates the history of the American West, specialing in the American Indian point of view. The southwestern landscape is the backdrop detailed on paintings such as “Kokipa Hiva,” which is the Lakota word for not afraid. It is also the name of the famous Lakota woman warrior who fought alongside with the males. This painting appears in Michael Terry’s new book entitled “Notes and Observations on Clothing & Regalia of Plains Indians.” JW Segler pays equal homage to the American Indian as well as the Cowboy perspective---these are the men an those that shaped the West. Segler uses paint texture and signature brush work that makes his work a unique rendition for modern times. His work must be seen and felt to be fully appreciated. THis show will run from October 1st through October 22nd.

Sunset Skies and Teepees
November 5, 2010

November 5th through November 22nd Nicholas Coleman and Ty Barhaug-- Sunset Skies and Teepees November is the perfect time of the year to feature a two-man show by two young painters who invigorate with their newness, the art of painting the West-- from teepees to sunsets that blazen the night skies. Nicholas Coleman is the son of prominent artist, Michael Coleman and has been featured in numerous publications. His paintings begin with the realism and detail that his father is known for, and then become something totally unique and synonymous to the name Nicholas Coleman—a blend of a little impressionism and lot of tone and mood. Ty Barhaug, originally from Wyoming, fosters a true appreciation for nature and wilderness, coupled with a lifetime love of art--his way of seeing translates into paintings that command ones full attention. Some of his favorite themes are teepees where an inner glowing fire can be seen, or the glow like brilliance of colors in the sky from the setting sun, or the refraction of sun on burning autumn hued tree leave clusters. Barhaug can also claim numerous publications and among his honors, participation and multiple awards from the annual Buffalo Bill Art Show and Salein Cody, WY. Coleman and Barhaug are two young painters that are not only a pleasure to see new work from, but a shame to miss if you have the chance to visit for our First Fridays Art Walk on November 5th from 5-8 p.m.
